The Weatherization Program is designed to assist households, reduce their home's fuel consumption and to reduce the cost of energy to heat their home's for eligible recipients.
All work is completed at NO COST to the participating household.

Using state, federal, agency and local utility company guidelines, North Iowa Community Action is able to address the following issues for participating households:
- Attic and Wall Insulation
- Boxsill, Crawlspace, and Kneewall Insulation
- Air Infiltration and House Tightness Qualities
- Furnace and Water Heater Efficiency and Safety
- Electrical Consumption by Refrigerators, Freezers and Lighting Fixtures

- Set back your thermostat
- Check your furnace filter
- Shut and lock windows
- Keep obstacles off registers
- Use smaller kitchen appliances
- Turn off lights
- Wash and dry full loads of laundry
- Clean dryer lint after each load
- When leaving on trips shut off or turn down everything you can
- Unplug electrical devices
