Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing (HPRP)
Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing (HPRP) is also known as the Iowa Rental Help Program.
HPRP can help families and individuals who are homeless or who would be homeless without HPRP by:
*providing temporary financial assistance
*housing relocation & stabilization services
HPRP is not long-term assistance, it is meant to help families and
individuals become stable and self-sufficient within their home.
Our case managers are knowledgeable about valuable resources within
your community and can assist you in linking with these community
resources. We can also help develop a plan to avoid housing instability in
the future.
Requirements:
Household must either be homeless or at risk of homelessness AND meet all of the following:
- Have household incomes at or below 50% of the area median income for their county
- No appropriate subsequent housing options have been identified
- The household lacks the financial resources and support networks needed to gain immediate housing or to remain in their current housing
- Household must have no other resources to eliminate the risk of eviction and/or homelessness
