Decategorization: P4C and FMC
Knowledge is Power
There are two collaborations for families and children that are provided by the Department of Human Services Decategorization funding within North Iowa Area Community Action's service area--Families Making Connections and Partners 4 Children.
Decategorization funding comes from child welfare and juvenile justice dollars that are specifically "decategorized" to move away from funding of institutional, out-of-home, and out-of-community care for our children. These dollars are then used to provide more preventative, family and neighborhood based services to keep children safe while in their homes.
