NICAO offers a variety of educational programs which are available to nine Iowa counties. Some of the programs offered are:
Early Childhood Development
Adopt-A-Child
Meets the needs of Head Start of children who do not have warm coats, snowpants, boots, hats, or mittens for winter weather in north Iowa by accepting donations of cash or clothing to obtain suitable garments for eligible children.
Child Care Resource & Referral
Provides support services to parents, child care providers, and employers by providing a variety of services to help improve the availability, affordability, and quality of child care.
Child Development
One classroom in Manly receives state funds for three and four year old children from families with incomes up to 125% of the poverty level. On-going parenting classes are part of the curriculum.
Head Start
Is a comprehensive child development program for children between the ages of three and five which also serves children with disabilities. Family income levels are at or below 100% of the federal poverty level.
